12-8-06 Cape of Good Hope
Hi Mike,
Sorry, we couldn't fit the darn thing in our car, besides it scared the bejeebers out of me when I went for a ride on the ostrich as part of our tour.Did you know that they travel at 70 mph? and he was gearing up to that speed. That was the last on my ostrich riding for life.
But anyway the stuffed one is real cute.
SA is quite fabulous and we are enjoying our first day here in Cape Town, what a beautiful city! We are "self catering" in a delightful little apartment high on a hill in the center of the city. Today is an exploring day to get our bearings and figure out where everything is. Now that we have this e mail we will send you a synopsis of what we've done and where we've been. Feeling very lucky to be here and have had nothing but good experiences and good weather the whole time.
Could someone send this to Joan and Family, Tom and family?please.
Luv from Mom/Peggy and Don too

On thing we've discovered is that you don't need a car to see Cape Town
and environs. Would be easier, and maybe less money to do on own; they are
really set up for tourists exploring.

We are off to a winery tour after a wonderful day at Robbins Island where
Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for some 18 years. an incredible story of
how the Africaners treated the black and colored here.
All is well here and I hope all is well with you and that Angela is
feeling better.
Love to all,
Dad
