Hi Don and Peg!

We made it to Malawi and finally recieved our luggage today after a run to the airport, and all was there. We have learned the JHBG is famous for missing bags. I've been wanting to update you on our trip to Capetown which was great fun for all!

The Fritz Hotel was great relaxing and clean and centrally located for walking and taking some taxis. Our first night we were able to get a great meal at a local Thai place. The Fritz was a block away from kloof street which had lots of shops and restaurants.

Friday we went to the waterfront for food and sights and to get ourselves familar with the area, we went to the Robben Island Museum and Angela discovered Bungi jumping and had lots of fun then back to the hotel for r and r then a great italian meal.

Saturday we went to the Fab lab and met some folks and saw Chris in his element and had some fun it was our only day of rain and it wasn't that bad then some sight seeing around long street then spent the afternoon at the District six museum did you all get there? Pretty incredible the forced removal of blacks and people of color to the CapeFlats area to from townships.

Sunday we made it out to Robbens Island and got a lot out of it I was moved to tears with this Reconcilation and it's powerful stuff to forgive and move on and just want the best for all yet the majority of people still live in the townships I realize it times time for change but it still seems pretty segregated.

Then we went to the market at greenpoint for some shopping then a great fish dinner on the Kloof.

On Monday we hired a driver and went to the Boulders for the penguins and the capepoint just a spectacular day clear blue skies and incredible landscapes and then a picnic back in the car no baboons though, then a drive behind Table mountain to chapmans peak with unbelievable ocean views, back to the hotel then off to Table Mountain for a sunset walk at the top lots of fun.

Tuesday chris spent the day at fablab and Angela and I went to the waterfront to the Aquarium lots of sights and more bungi jumping and then off to meet chris for some south african food, then back to the hotel.

Wednesday, we decided to do a township tour and we are glad we did it was not exploitive at all it was an incredible learning and empowering experience and tourism is very welcome in the townships beacause of greater opportunities for them, then some shopping and then we took a taxi to Camps Bay for sunset and dinner before packing our bags for Malawi.

great to be here with Brian and Mike and children Angela just loves being with Maria, the girls are having good times. Chris is busy in JHBG and having fun and staying safe he will be here on sunday.

well enough for now it's late and I been wanting to fill you in a bit and will do more later when chris gets here he'll post his photos.

Tell all the Sheffields we send our love from afar at rob and ally's party.

Love, Liz
